Does what it says on the tin… I hope

Who I am

Paul Cook, sixty-six years old at the time of this revamp. Proudly drawing my state pension and working as a “School Patrol Officer,” or what we call them in the UK, a “Lollipop Man.”

Married for forty years, with three adult children and one granddaughter. Our marriage has been one hell of an adventure and we are still smiling, courtesy of Teresa’s incredible ability to always believe in me, as I struggle to keep up with her and 100 mph enthusiasm for life.

I really hate labels, but I am going to use them here – a Christian, but as my daughter would say, “Dad, you’ve become a bloody dirty liberal!” A Christ-Follower, but only on my very best days. Once a preacher, but now a storyteller – I like to paint pictures with my words. A struggling writer, although some would say, I’m a very good writer.

Why a blog?

I thought it would be a good way to take my writing a bit more seriously, as a prelude to writing a book, but this writing lark is so much harder than I realised, so I’m stuck with a blog, at least for now.

There are those who accuse me of being wise, of being kind and I have many stories to tell about the adventures we have been on. I have discovered that church has done a lot of harm to many people that I know, including myself. Over the years, I have discovered a new way of viewing my faith and my friendship with Divine Love that seems to give hope to others, so here it is.
